Introducing: DGI Windy City Wine Oasis (Phase 2)

When we first stepped into this home, the vision was clear: create a calming, grounded home filled with soft neutrals, warm wood tones, and natural materials. And Phase One delivered exactly that: layered serenity through clean lines, quiet textures, and an easy, organic palette that let the architecture shine.

Now, we’re back for Phase Two. And this time, it’s all about contrast.

This next chapter of the home leans into the idea that opposites attract: light and dark, soft and structured. While also proving that thoughtful layering can add richness and character without disrupting the calm.
We're bringing in moodier tones, darker woods, and rich, weightier materials to build on the warmth that already exists.

You’ll see more bronze accents, bolder lighting, and a curated mix of browns, whites, and warm neutrals that add drama. It’s all about boldness that feels balanced, and detail that feels deliberate.

Stairwell Chandelier:

At a striking 39 feet long, this sculptural fixture cascades through the full height of the home that creates a visual thread that connects each level. It’s art, it’s lighting, and it’s impossible to ignore. As it catches the light and shifts with your viewpoint, it adds just the right amount of wow-factor to an otherwise quiet, clean-lined space.

Powder Room

Small in size but big on style, the powder room is getting a bold refresh. We’re keeping the existing floor but bringing in a custom stone vanity with a thick, integrated countertop that wraps seamlessly into a bespoke mirror and creates a sculptural, all-in-one centerpiece. Textured stone tiles will line the back wall and continue opposite behind the toilet, flanked by warm wood paneling on both sides to echo details from the nearby kitchen. Rich suede brown wallpaper and copper finishes complete this room.

Basement Wellness Room

Updating the layout focused on creating a more functional space, complete with a new entry vestibule and a subtle door to separate the toilet area. Naturally, the sauna takes center stage in this wellness space, featuring gentle integrated lighting and a surround-sound Bluetooth speaker.

A consistent theme carried through each bathroom, this space features substantial stone vanities and soft under-cabinet lighting that add depth. Even the smallest details were considered, from the warm glow of brushed bronze fixtures to the moody elegance of smoky glass pendants.

Hallway Nursery Bathroom

While the layout stayed the same, every finish in the hallway bathroom was refreshed with a touch of fun. The space brings in a playful edge while still feeling elevated. A high-contrast stone wraps around the tub and niche, where terrazzo tile adds a subtle pop of pattern. Matte black accents a toe kick under the vanity brings in both function and a hint of modern flair.

Guest Bathroom

This bathroom got a sleek upgrade with a floating vanity, complete with subtle accent lighting and maximized storage inside. A former tub was replaced with a streamlined shower, now wrapped in clean, neutral tile. A wall-mounted faucet adds to the modern profile, while a mix of brushed bronze, silver, and black finishes ties it back to the material story woven throughout the rest of the home.

Office Bathroom

Designed to feel like a natural extension of the adjacent office, this bathroom balances warm wood details with darker, moodier elements. A former tub was replaced with a walk-in shower, wrapped in smoky grey tile for a cohesive touch. Light oak fluted panels frame the mirror, adding texture and warmth above a floating vanity with a bold, chunky stone top. Matte black fixtures and offset lighting complete the space, creating an elevated atmosphere that complements the workspace just steps away.

Primary Bathroom

The primary bathroom was reworked for both function and flow, starting by closing off the double openings to the bedroom, allowing for a single, streamlined entry and added privacy. Inside, a separate water closet was framed out, and a custom double vanity now provides ample storage, integrated plug-ins, and accent lighting. Stone runs from countertop to ceiling behind the mirrors, where new sconces flank each side. One  vanity extends into a dedicated makeup area with extra lighting and mirror space.

The tub remains beside the fireplace, while the walk-in shower is the real show-stopper in the room. The glass surround is interrupted with an illuminated Cristallo stone slab, providing drama and privacy. Floor-to-ceiling stone tile keeps the entire space feeling clean, cohesive, and luxurious.

Cold Plunge Room

What was once a utility and secondary laundry room is now getting a refreshing new purpose. We’re clearing out the old cabinetry to make room for a streamlined setup, complete with new cabinets, faucets, and a trash pull-out that complements what remains. The highlight? A cold plunge tucked into the corner, bringing wellness and functionality together in one unexpectedly cool space.

From serene upgrades to bold new additions, Phase Two brings a thoughtful layer of contrast, comfort, and personality to this already stunning home. Each space was designed with intention, balancing beauty with function, and playful touches with elevated materials.
