2034 N. Fremont: Your Questions, Answered

A custom-design-build luxury residence, currently taking shape in the heart of Chicago's Lincoln Park.

Over the past decade, we've designed, renovated, and reimagined hundreds of homes, learning firsthand what elevates everyday living and what falls short. Rather than repeating the patterns we've spent years correcting, we intentionally designed 2034 N. Fremont with those lessons built in from the very beginning.

Since officially announcing this new chapter at DGI, we’ve been hearing plenty of questions from you all. To answer some of those questions, we recently took to Instagram Stories for a Q&A all about 2034 N. Fremont. From the design process and floor plan to customization opportunities, and what makes this home different from a typical new construction property, we’re breaking down the conversation below.

Q: “Are you working with a particular builder?”

A: Yes — we are the builder! This home will be fully designed, built, and (hopefully) furnished by DGI.

Q: “Explain the garage/mudroom/into house situation.”

A: A breezeway will connect the garage directly to the basement, where a spacious mudroom is located just inside the entry. It gives you a dedicated place to drop shoes, bags, and everything else that tends to pile up at the door, keeping that everyday clutter out of the family room. And with Chicago winters, having a convenient transition space between the garage and the rest of the home is a pretty big perk!

Q: “WILL DGI Also STAY involved to help with furnishing and styling of the home?”

A: That’s the plan! 😊

Q: “Is there an outdoor area above the garage?”

A: There are three distinct outdoor spaces! The first is a patio just off the family room, perfect for easy indoor-outdoor living. Above the garage, there’s a roof deck that can also be transformed into a sport court, depending on how you want to use the space. And on the third floor, nearly half of the level is dedicated to outdoor living, with both a covered area and an open-air space.

Q: “What is the price?”

A: To learn more about the pricing model, click here to fill out the contact form! We’d be happy to talk further.

Q: “Possible to Foregoe the ½ Outdoor Space on the 3rd Floor and make it A fully enclosed living space?”

A: The lot is zoned R4, so we’ve already maximized the allowable interior square footage at approximately 5,200 SF. But maximizing square footage isn’t just about fitting more into a home. We’ve drawn on our experience designing and building homes throughout Chicago to create a floor plan where every space has a purpose and the square footage is truly put to work.

We’re also maximizing the outdoor space. Half of the roof deck will be covered, creating a comfortable spot for an outdoor TV, lounging, and entertaining throughout the spring, summer, and fall.

Ready to Make 2034 N. Fremont Yours?

There’s still so much to come as 2034 N. Fremont takes shape, and we’re especially excited about the opportunity to bring the future homeowner into the process early. Because DGI is leading both the design and construction, there’s an opportunity to collaborate with our team and make meaningful decisions about the home before construction is complete.

If you’ve been looking for a home that offers the design and quality of a custom build without starting from an empty lot, 2034 N. Fremont might be the right fit.
